@frenchiedee I’m trying to get one! they are always out. I hear they are the business!! do you use one?
Hey girl, I use the same technique, I have also found that if you add olive oil to your hair before or during your detangle session, it will help prevent tangles and knots since it give some xtra slip to the conditioner It also helps to shed hair come right out since that is usually what makes tangles and knots. give it a try Keep smiling!!
great video i love your texture
Great Video……
Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
Our textures are different but we’re right at the same length so I am with ya girl! lol I keep thinking to myself…I’ll be so glad when my hair is a little longer so I can make bigger sections and twists! When I try that now my hair just laughs at me and comes right undone. lol Does that ever happen to you when you are trying to go too fast?
You have beautiful hair! Its very thick!
Great job at detangling! I love SheaMoisture’s shampoos and hair mask too! I agree with finger detangling first, I try to be as gentle as possible.
I have that brush too!
Hey sis .. do you have a tangle teezer? If not, I want to send you one.. I had to order on line… this thing will change your life:)!!!!!! let me know:)Peace Love and Kinks
@BlakIzBeautyful my hair is still fairly short to be held back by clips, but i finger divided and then held the small section to detangle. it took foreverrr. and then when i rinsed and came back it was as if i didnt detangle so i detangled with my water mixture. later on when it was dry and in its afro state it wasnt detangled again…*sigh* ok im down now..lol..im not sure what im doing but oh well. ill keep trying each time i wash my hair.
Have you tried the tangle teezer?
Excellent tutorial! I like your detangling method for saving water. I often feel guilty when standing in the shower for ages detangling mine! Although I no longer cowash and shampoo mine weekly with a gentle soap bar, the pre conditioner detangle method is one I will try. When is your BC anniversary? I know it’s soon as we did ours around the same time.x
Love that your hair is still shiny and soft, even after a week of not washing it!
@ThickMadame80 What questions did I answer sis?? LOL @ curly puff balls with tight curls at the end. At least you had curls somewhere! Jealous! LOL Didnt you hate when the water went cold?? Idk why I didnt think to do it in the sink sooner. I cant wait to hear about your results.
@gwenn4ya Great choices!! So happy you love them. they are great! Do you leave your masque on for hours?? if not, try that next time. Leave it on for hours during the day OR lave it in overnight under your cap and your bonnet/scarf. Your hair will LOVE YOU more then you love it.
As your hair gets longer your twists and braids will hold curl definition much much much better. Trust me!
@Mapassion5 Curls? In the beginning right?? Those were from my braid out. MUAH!
@gwenn4ya You welcome sis! Very glad to hear that you’re still following my recommendation and that its working for you. My TWA twst outs werent that defined either. Ill be doing a 1yr journey update with pics next month and you will see what I mean.
You have answered so many questions that i had. I just about was going to give up on the detandgling due to the fact when I would get done I would have curly puff balls and tight curls at the end. I guess it does make since to twist your hair afterwards. I also was one to do this in the shower and would end up with cold water & 45 mins later. Thanks! I will let you know how it went.
I got the Smoothie and the Masque and I like them both. I need to go back and get the Curl Milk and the Mist. After the twist out I use coconut oil and some of the volume to untwist, but I don’t really have much curl definition. It just feels incredibly soft and it stays moisturized. It’s ok cause I like it and I accept if I don’t have any curl definition. I have found that the Eco Styler with Olive Oil does give me some definition. So at times I use just a little of that and it helps.
beautiful curls. it is great
Awesome…thanks! I appreciate it and even though my hair is only 3 1/2 inches long I know that I was doing something correct!! Well I didn’t have to detangle my twa either when I first did my big chop because the wide tooth comb would go right through it. LOL…I now twist it up every night as you recommended before. My hair is responding well to the nightly twists, but not too sure that I curl definition is taking place after the fact. Thanks for the vid!
@JOYSEES1 Thanks my love.
@Honeybee9910 LMAO!!!! If I had done that and said “Voila” there wouldn’t have been any change really. The smoothie just moisturizes me. It doesnt curl my hair. Did you say “my curl definition??” That wasn’t curl definition sis… LOL that was frizz!! But thanks I do know how to take a compliment.
LOVE THE FRO !!!!
@spritzfire009 Are you doing everything I’m doing?? Are you using sections small enough for your hair type and thickness??
