  1. Hey! Try co-washing. I do that every time I wash since I don’t use too many products that give build up. I may shampoo every other week or 1x/mo depending on what I do to my hair. Shampoos can be drying to the hair so shampooing too much can dry the hair. And when u do find a sulfate free shampoo. Giovanni shampoos are sulfate free. HTH!

o yea gurl that aphogee will do it to u. I found kera kare hydrating shampoo to be uber moisturizing on my relaxed and now natural hair. But u may benifit from cleansers like hair one sold in sallys or just co washing. N btw im so proud that u r doing this challenge i love me sum weave to but we still gota know how to care for our own hair from time to time. Good luck gurlie n thanx for the vids :-)

  3. i use giovanni, but before i shampoo i prepoo by adding some olive oil in my hair and on my scalp and let it set for about 15 minutes then i wash and my hair stays mositurize try prepooing girlie :3

also i find that the cheap conditioners like suave and what not are good for cowashing but the shampoos are garbage so i have to spend more money on shampoos then conditioners but its all good because i shampoo like every two weeks so it last

  4. BTW!!
sorry… just watched all of the video through properly… I would strongyl recommend staying away from petroleum, mineral oil and sulfates… if the product works for you though, fair enough

  5. girl your hair is looking great! I’m so glad you’re doing more hair videos now xD

natural hair products, I would say definitely get Kinky curly!!!! especially knot today (leave in conditioner) and curling custard (to define your curls) … they’ve got really good reviews from naturals on youtube plus they are pH balanced!!!…

stay away from miss jessie’s … they charge so much for their products which are full of cheap ingredients which will clog up your scalp (mineral oil)

  6. Also looking to do the 5 month challenge with you Flowerpush. I’ve gone 10 months now without a relxer (yippee) and I still have relaxed ends. I think I have 4 1/2 inches to go til I get to bra strap length so I am looking forward to it

  7. anything with mineral oil, sulfates, petroleum are bad for the hair and scalp.
Sulfates strip hair of its natural oils and the petroleum and mineral oils clog the pores/scalp

Aphogee leaves my hair extremely dry also and someone told me it could be because it has too much protein in it.

  9. shanunie says:

im natural and i use cream of nature. and i have also been using suave naturals (99 cent store) and that leaves my hair very soft. but as you know what works for me may not work on your hair.

  10. GLAMAZONinc says:

African American hair DOES need to be washed regularly ! Not washing your hair for days will only get you a dirty, clogged scalp. Because curly hair needs moisture you need a moisturizing shampoo w/o Sulfur.

  11. GLAMAZONinc says:

CAROL’S DAUGHTER…..stay away from sulfur, that’s whats drying out ur hair! to much suds=dry hair

  12. you should try out some Jane Carter Solutions products, they work great and smell good. and this leave in conditioner Alter Ego, its like $30 but it works great.

  13. lol @ “smelling like grossness”

  14. weird i use the aphogee and my hair is curly and my hair is always soft afterwards. But then again i only use the aphogee probably like every two months because i don’t wash my own hair very often, someone else does it. and idk if your using that aphogee very often because it does say on the back not to use very often, so that could be the issue.

  15. ESBEAUTII says:

Every 3 das is alot for african american hair,.,.your choice…but just saying over washing will dry it out as it is an using two shampoos is even worse.

  16. msjay97 says:

hi try co washing shampooing to often can also try dry hair sorry that happen to you thanks for sharing and also best wishes on your natural hair journey ; )

  17. whitwhits1 says:

Since you was your hair frequently i would suggest that you use a shampoo without sulfates and all that jazz. I use hair all one you can find it at sallys beauty supply, its the olive oil one, its a clarifyer and it is in a green bottle.

  18. Fuchsia5 says:

Heyy you shouldn’t mix two different shampoos :( If you want to try a good brand, it would be ORGANIX that you can find at Walmart/Zellers/etc. It really made my hair soft so maybe it could work on you too :D I usually rince the conditionner and then mix a bit in my hand with water and distribute it in my hair and style…And yeah, Pantene is a big no no even if it’s labeled “for women of color”.

  19. wildreed21 says:

Umm, I think you got the wrong kind of Cantu. Sowwy. The one most people use and talk about is the Leave In Repair Creme big container for about $6 at Walmart. It’s geat, but not awesome. It def does what gel does, in that it changes the look and texture of your hair (in a very good way) while itself being a repair creme instead of a gel, but it doesn’t last for a week or anything, just one day for me. Not organic though. This is what you finger curl with. You’ll c jaw dropping results.

  20. You cant mix two different shampoos. You should just limit yourself to one shampoo.

  21. liltasha03 says:

U shouldnt use two shampoos I dont like the pantene Breake Defense it dries out my hair I use the aphogee deep moisture every other week and I used a go leavin and it works for be oh and I have naural curly hair too so try it like that and see if it works

  22. TheMartykinz says:

hi, you should try Tresemme Naturals Shampoo, it has low sulfates, so it won’t dry out your hair, but it will make it clean, it has avocado oil in it, so it leaves your hair soft and manageable. Have u tried Miss Jessies or Kinky Curly, the Kinky Curly leave in is the bomb!!!! Do try.

  23. loveshaked says:

so did you end up cutting all the relaxed ends of your hair?
your natural curls are absolutely gorgeous!

  24. iiLulu10 says:

    @nicksbabe22 i agree totally

  25. nicksbabe22 says:
